Finishing University

The end.

So after five years in total of studying media at college & creative film productions in university I finally made it to the season finale. I handed in my final dissertation which was a written piece on 'How American cinema demonstrate racial & political commentary on African American hairstyles through aesthetics'. My dissertation was six thousand words also including three researched films of my choice, with references to Bell hooks & Stuart Hall. I have to say studying media & creative film productions at university gave me a chance to discover black history in cinema. Through Blaxploitation films such as Black dynamite or Shaft as well as social awareness movies such as School Daze 1998 Directed by Spike Lee. I felt that I have found my ambition to study black culture in cinema & feel proud to see how far we have come in cinema history. I would like to add towards that movement one day, to direct, write or produce a movie around black excellence.

I was on Instagram a while ago a saw post regarding black culture in cinema so far. They Instagram influencer made a valid point which was "Why is every black movie has to have a storyline related to slavery, gangs or police brutality? Why can't we just see a movie where a black individual is running their own company or an action hero? Why does it have to based black people overcoming historical adversity?". It was something that completely went over my head for someone who is invested in cinema & tv series. I feel like now we are slowly moving towards that dream, I would hope to add towards it. 

While been in lockdown I have decided to look at my life to such a degree, mentally, physically, & finically. I have defiantly have been effected by Covid related to my business. At the same I am looking to studying more ways to increase my finances & develop new ideas through business.
